The Blaylock tone ring is more in keeping with my original idea of trying to build a banjo with the exact materials and qualities as my 1934 Granada. The Blaylock ring offers this, in that it is the exact size, and the plating process is the same as Gibson used when they built the Granada. (Copper flashing under gold plating) If this tone ring had been available to me at the time, I would have used it, so at this time I felt it necessary to change....in keeping with my original plan. The Huber ring is not an inferior tone ring, and at the time it was the best ring available. I just feel this one better suits the Chief and its reason for existing. I hope this answers all questions. ....Sonny
